New PayPal Link

First, I would like to thank the generous people who have already donated to Tate's Memorial fund!

For those of you who are interested in donating but haven't done so yet, there is now an easier way to donate.  A PayPal account has now been set up for the Play On Fund, which will save you the trouble of mailing in a check.  You can donate by following this link:  https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=H4WRVHJ9USV9U

You can still send checks directly to the fund if you prefer to do it that way:

Thanks so much for considering a donation.

Fundraising for a great cause

One of my 5 year old nephew's best friends, Tate Kandas, passed away very suddenly from a brain tumor last year.   His parents have started a memorial fund, which will fund the construction of a bronze sculpture at a playground in Tate's hometown of Bluefield, WV.  The sculpture will be an interactive, child-friendly object that will capture the spirit of Tate the Great.  The sculpture will be a raccoon because Tate's favorite book was "The Kissing Hand."

In order to build this wonderful memorial, $5000 needs to be raised.  Since the fund was started in late October, $1000 has been raised.  It would be wonderful if we can extend this fundraiser beyond Tate's hometown and help raise the $4000 that is still needed for this memorial.

Although the majority of people reading this blog do not know Tate or his family, I am sure you can appreciate the importance of this memorial for Tate's family, friends, and community.  Any amount you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.  Any proceeds exceeding the goal of $5000 will be put towards cancer research by the Children's Oncology Group Foundation (Columbus, Ohio).

I am setting up a PayPal donation button but in the meantime, donations can be sent to:
